The 12 Tribes of Israel

Firstly, Beth Elohim has no affiliation with any government or political state. Yeshua is our King, and His Kingdom is not of this world (John 18:36). We do not represent nor align ourselves with the modern state of Israel. Scriptural Israel, the true descendants of Shem, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob  are a spiritual and physical people, distinct from any political identity.

1. The People of Covenant

Biblical Israel are an Afro-Asiatic people, a melanated nation scattered through many diasporas and captivities over millennia. You will find Israel today in Africa, the Americas, the Caribbean, the United Kingdom, Yemen, India, and other nations, fulfilling prophecy:

“I will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other.” Deuteronomy 28:64

They are described as:

A speckled birdJeremiah 12:9

Jacob’s brown sheepGenesis 30:32–33

Solomon’s dark skinSong of Songs 1:5–6

Yeshua’s copper toneRevelation 1:15; Daniel 10:6

These are consistent scriptural descriptions, melanated people of covenant, whose physical traits match their ancestral regions and migrations.

2. The Signs of the Covenant People

Skin tone alone does not define Israel, but it helps identify the remnant when viewed alongside prophecy. True Israel is identified through covenantal markers, curses, captivities, and faithfulness to the Torah, and overcoming:

“These curses shall come upon you for disobedience… you shall go into captivity again by ships.”
Deuteronomy 28:68

This describes the transatlantic slave trade, the most recent fulfilment of Israel’s dispersion. No other people match this description in totality, by history, suffering, and endurance.

3. Prophecy of Forgetfulness and Awakening

The prophets spoke that Israel would forget their identity yet remember in the land of their captivity:

“You shall discontinue from your heritage that I gave you.” Jeremiah 17:4

“In the land of their captivity they shall remember themselves.” Baruch 2:30

The Book of Jubilees also affirms this, that the scattered seed would return to Torah, teach the nations, and become a light to the Gentiles. This awakening, known as Teshubah (return), is happening now.

4. The Restoration and the Language of the Redeemed

Another prophetic marker identifies Israel’s return through language and worship:

“For then will I restore to the peoples a pure language, that they may all call upon the Name of YHWH, to serve Him with one accord.”Zephaniah 3:9–10

This prophecy specifically mentions those beyond the rivers of Cush (Africa), the dispersed of the true house of Israel, being called back to the Name YHWH. There is only one remnant fulfilling this today, those calling upon the true Name of YHWH and keeping His commandments.

5. The Sceptre of Judah

“The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until Shiloh comes.” Genesis 49:10

The royal lineage of Judah continued through ancient African dynasties, particularly the Solomonic line, traced through Haile Selassie I, who claimed direct descent from King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. This aligns with prophecy, Judah maintaining the scepter until the return of the Messiah.

Conclusion

The true tribes of Israel are awakening, not through politics or race alone, but through prophetic identity, Torah observance, and spiritual rebirth. They are a melanated, covenant-keeping remnant, scattered yet being gathered, a people of the Ruah (Spirit) returning to their inheritance.

“I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.” Jeremiah 16:15

The restoration of Israel is about the fulfillment of YHWH’s promises the return of His sons and daughters to covenant.
