"That men may know that You, whose Name alone is YHWH, are the Most High over all the earth.” -- Psalm 83:16
"This is My Name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.” — Exodus 3 : 15
In the Hebrew Scriptures, the divine Name יהוה (YHWH) appears more than 6,000 times, yet most English Bibles replace it with “the LORD.” This substitution hides the identity of the Elohim of Israel and removes the memorial that YHWH Himself commanded to be remembered. The Name means “He who exists,” “the Self-Existent One,” and carries the sense of past, present, and future as one eternal being. The pronunciation has dialectal variations, but the ancient and most accurate renderings are: YAHUWAH (ancient form) or YAHOWAH (modern pronunciation). Both preserve the sacred root YAHU / YAHO, found throughout the Tanakh in names like Eliyahu (El is Yahu) and Yesha‘yahu (Salvation of Yahu).
The divine Name reveals His eternal nature: “I Am That I Am ( Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh )” — Exodus 3 : 14. The letters themselves form a continuous breath of existence, past ( hayah ), present ( hoveh ), and future ( yihyeh ) YHWH’s Name was once revered among the nations, then defiled and forgotten.
Yet prophecy declares it will be restored:
"For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language, that they may all call on the Name of YHWH, to serve Him with one accord.” — Zephaniah 3 : 9
“You will call Me ‘My Husband,’ and no longer call Me ‘My Baal.’ For I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth.” — Hosea 2 : 16-17
The word “Lord” (baal) was often used for pagan deities. YHWH calls His people to separate His holy Name from all profane titles.
Yeshua Himself testified:
“I have manifested Your Name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world.” — John 17 : 6
“You will call Me ‘My Husband,’ and no longer call Me ‘My Baal.’ For I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth.” — Hosea 2 : 16-17
The Messiah came in the Name of the Father, both in mission and in literal form. His Hebrew name, identical to Joshua’s, is יהושע (Yahushua), meaning “YAHUWAH is salvation.” The shortened form ישוע (Yeshua) is a natural contraction used throughout Scripture (e.g., Nehemiah 8 : 17). This means he saves, which perfectly lines up with the book of Matthew.
Because the letter J did not exist until the 1500s, the name “Jesus” cannot represent the original Hebrew pronunciation. We do not believe in translating names of divine nature. While we show patience to those still learning, we return to the set-apart Name to honor truth and worship in spirit.
“Blessed is He who comes in the Name of YHWH.” — Matthew 23 : 39
The apostles continued to proclaim and act under that divine authority:
“Repent, and be immersed every one of you in the Name of Yeshua the Messiah for the forgiveness of sins.”
— Acts 2 : 38
"They knew the power and presence of YHWH were revealed through His Son’s Name, the restoration of the ancient covenant." — Acts 4 : 1
“From the rising of the sun even to its setting, My Name shall be great among the nations.” — Malachi 1 : 11
The prophets saw a generation when the lost reverence for YHWH’s Name would return before the coming of the Kingdom. That time is now as more of true Israel and the nations awaken to the Name of YAHUWAH and the salvation of Yahushua.

The use of the true Name is not a matter of elitism but reverence and truth. Worshiping in spirit and in truth means acknowledging the reality of the Father and Son by their revealed Names.
“In every place where I cause My Name to be remembered, I will come to you and bless you.” — Exodus 20 : 4
The Father desires to be remembered by His true memorial Name — and the Son desires His followers to honor that Name with sincerity and love.
The Name of YHWH was defiled by ancient fathers, profaned by nations, and hidden by translation. But prophecy and revelation confirm its restoration in the last days.
“For then I will restore to the peoples a pure tongue, that they may all call on the Name of YHWH.”
— Zephaniah 3 : 9
Let us return to that purity. Let us honor the Eternal One by His memorial Name , YAHUWAH, and the Messiah who bears it ,Yahushua / Yeshua. “Names carry authority. The Father’s Name carries eternity.”
